I finally gave in and went to the Onsen. AKA the...
By far one of the coolest things I’ve done here, hands down. It’s like paying $7.00 for a resort. You divide between men and women’s onsens, strip down, and just relax in all these different pools inside and outside. It’s beautifully lit and beautifully decorated with a huge shower area complete with tons of individual spots. There was a milk bath, a tea bath, a cold bath,...

Tonight was pure summer
Tonight we went to Matt and Carly’s for dinner with the high school group. There was pizza and cake and nerf guns and three very cute little kids. There was prayer and there was a drive to the beach. There was 5v5 soccer on the beach lit by the headlights of a van. There were sparklers and there were random cars reenacting a scene from Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift in the parking lots....
Also this house smells good!!!! And doesn’t make me sneeze!!!!
And it has silverware AND dishes!!! Hellooooo paradise!
Finally moved to the Iverson house
Funny thing, this house is American style (cheaper to ship it and have volunteer construction) in a very old Japanese neighborhood. You can’t see it easily, thanks to the ridiculous labyrinth of streets, but it’s there.
Initial reaction: THANK GOODNESS I’M LIVING HERE. I didn’t realize how very un-homey Debbie’s house (where I was previously staying) felt until now....
Communication Fail
Time to kill another 2 hours
Why is "My Drunk Kitchen" so funny? I don't have...
or do I?? Thanks Youtube
I changed my Tumblr Theme Background
Now it is some Japanese Mt Fuji print instead of a picture I took of the sunrise in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It seems appropriate…as I am in Japan and not in Delaware.
Also, I’m moving out of my current residence into a new one tomorrow because Brenda is going back to the US and I haven’t packed or cleaned in the slightest. But at least I changed my Tumblr Theme background...

This past weekend I:
Went to Texas Night put on by the short term team that was here
Cleaned and organized the rest of the school all day with Carol
Went out to eat with Carol and her kids, Hannah and Seth. We went to a yakiniku restaurant where you grill a massive amount of meat on a grill in the center of the table. IT. WAS. DELICIOUS.
Had an incredible German beer at said Japanese restaurant. I always find my...

Total number of people who commented on the “hugeness” of my eyes tonight.
Mostly it was from Americans, so it doesn’t count as some sort of asian joke.
Today I:
woke up late because the Typhoon kept me up
got to school late
helped Kenta edit his paper
judged Spirit Week skits
did lots of random things
went to have dinner with Jason, Ai, Bob and Brenda and ate a LOT of Japanese food
attempted to convince Brenda to get ice cream with me……it’s a work in progress (GUYS I CAN’T STOP EATING!!!!!)
succeeded at that last one

Typhoons are LOUD
Things I did today:
Went to the school for classes in the morning and helped Mrs. Iverson
Biked through the rain to the grocery store.
Stared at one of the shelves for 5 minutes before pulling up “sesame oil” in my English to Japanese App and showing it to an old lady
had an old lady help me find food
made curry
watched “Mao’s Last Dancer” while a typhoon raged outside
OK I'm officially going to start blogging more
I’ve really dropped the ball the past few weeks.
I burned my throat on super hot rice
#Japanproblems
Today was a good day.
Good day at the school.
Good night with new friends watching the soccer game over good food.
Woke up to an Earthquake....went back to sleep
Welcome to Japan?
Countries I have been hopelessly lost in: Germany,...
Tried to bike to a meeting today. We all knew I would get lost as everyone else had before. I was so so off the directions. Guess what? There are no street names here. NO STREET NAMES. At least I didn’t panic :)
Going to learn how to be a substitute teacher...
just. so. tired.
Today Mary was our tour guide and we walked lots and lots and lots and took some trians and ended up in Chiba city at a Ramen restaurant and then we walked some more and then we went to the grocery store (thank God Mary was there or who knows what I would’ve ended up buying) and then we walked some more and then I PASSED OUT.
Good Morning!!....Evening? From Japan.
It is 6:30am but I am pretty awake, thanks to Jet Lag (or so I’ve assumed). Figured I should update my Tumblr.
So far things are good. I’m sharing a house with another short term intern here for June, Brenda. The house belongs to MTW people who are home on leave for a while…so it’s all ours. And as opposed to Berlin….this place has WiFi!!!….or there is some...
Canada (or its airport) is insanely expensive....
But come on people, I have to have People and Time for the plane….and then when I want American Pop Culture/English in a month!! The Canadians must have known and wanted to take advantage. Scheming Mounties.
Also, can we just all have a good laugh at how...
and that Wayne Gretsky pictures are on all the advertisements?
This must be what snobby foreigners feel like when they walk into the US and make fun of us. ha. Where is Barney Stinson?
